Just behind my home in Minnesota, lays a pond where every year the geese and the ducks return. The geese are honking and fighting as the ducks glide gently around the water. In what seems like a few short weeks we spot the little black dots darting around the edges of the pond. The new family is at home. The mom protectively watches over them, never letting them get too far away. We watch as they grow so quickly. As our weather turns cold, they take to the skies heading for their winter home and another season passes. They were my inspiration for Northern Flight.
